ABOUT US

Starr Bar is a nightlife venue in Bushwick, Brooklyn that celebrates and supports movements for social justice. We host parties, mixers, live music, art-shows, open-mics, karaoke nights, meetings, political discussions, fundraisers, film screenings and film shoots. We work with our sister venue, The Mayday Space, to uplift movements for social justice.

ORGANIZE WITH US

Our first fundraiser in 2016 was to celebrate and support the Standing Rock encampment. Since then, we have hosted thousands of public facing events and fundraisers for movements including Black Lives Matter, Climate Justice, Anti-war organizing, Tenant and Labor Rights, Queer and Trans Rights, Palestine, and local orgs like Bushwick Ayuda Mutua, Bushwick Emergency Relief Fund, The North Brooklyn Coalition and many more. If you are fighting the good fight, and are looking for a space to celebrate, network, recruit, or raise funds for your work, hit us up! Book Starr Bar.

GET INVOLVED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Mayday, our sister project, is a movement space 10 mins away from Starr Bar. If you’re looking for a place to get to know the movement ecosystem in Bushwick, volunteer, or just to meet inspiring people check them out! They also have an excellent list of other movement orgs in the neighborhood: Homies.
